Yes, Something Does Satisfy
As a teenager I was involved in many social activities and had many friends and kept busy. I grew up in a home with no background of religion, Christ or the Bible. My parents were good people and did their best, yet, something was missing.
When I was 19 I got tired of trying so many unsatisfying things. I was heading down the wrong path since nothing I tried could inwardly satisfy and give me lasting happiness. There are lots of things that give temporary satisfaction but I knew I needed something more.
I soon found out this something more was Jesus Christ. When my instructor from college invited me to a meeting in his home, I went. That night they shared that the Lord Jesus wanted to be our Savior. I opened my heart to the Lord and received Him into my spirit (2 Timothy 4:22). That was it! I knew something had changed. I began to meet with them often. I spent my weekends with their family and then got baptized two months later. Soon after that I moved into a house with three other Christian sisters.
That was 16 years ago. I can finally, assuredly and happily say, Yes, something does satisfy. That is Jesus Christ!
